Rock & Roll HOF Museum

Postby Ten Bears on Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:58 am

My bride and I are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary this weekend, I married my dreamgirl almost 6 months to the day that we met. Still going.... :D

We had been to the Chickenfoot concert at the HOF museum but due to time constraints we were not able to tour the museum grounds at that time. We took a trip north yesterday and decided to spend the day taking the tour.
With admission, parking, food and travel we had about $160.00 invested in the day. It was a good time.

I was most taken by the Hendrix exhibit. There is an entire wall dedicated to Hendrix' childhood artwork. There is something to be said in regards to lefties having artistic ability. He was quite an artist at an early age.

It was neat to see cars, clothing, bikes and instruments used either in video or on stage. Also really cool to see roughdrafts of songs written on whatever was available at the time the artist had the notion to write.

Currently the featured HOF artist is Bruce Springsteen. The scrapbooks and picture albums from the early days were really something to see. It appears that he was just a regular guy once. Kind of inspirational to those of us who die tryin' ;)

Anyway, if you are in Cleveburg and need to kill 3 or 4 hours, I would suggest the museum.

The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.

Congratulations on your 18th Wedding Anniversary! That's a remarkable feat in itself and deserving of it's own Hall of Fame any more. ;) :D

Congratz on the anniversary TB. I need to get back to the Hall. Haven't been there since 95 or so. I can't remember much, but of the Hendrix stuff they had at the time was the scrap of paper that Jimi Hendrix wrote the lyrics to Purple Haze on. There was a small Eagles exhibit at the time and I especially remember Don Henley's mahogany ludrwig kit because my Dad has a kit just like it.
